Start of a trend?

When I think back to how tattoo culture has changed, I definitely think celebrities have had a major impact on how tattoos are now perceived in society. For instance, David beckham has had numerous tattoos inked on himself in the last ten years, mainly to do with family or memories.He already has a crucifix on the back of his neck, a guardian angel between his shoulder blades and an angel on his right shoulder, along with many others that form sleeves on his arms.
He seemed to begin the trend of fashionable tattoos, starting off with one to symbolise his sons birth. The majority of his work has been done by Manchester tattooist Louis Malloy. Yet is it just his status that allows him to change this appearance of tattoos, making him even more of a status symbol to his fans.
